We are looking for a Summer Trainee, Mechanical Engineering to join our global order engineering team in the Industrial Equipment (IE) business area that develops, manufactures, sells and delivers a variety of light lifting equipment and overhead cranes as well as their components to industrial customers globally. In this position you will have an important role in engineering activities of the delivery projects related to customers’ orders for ETO-cranes. You will work closely with your team members who help you get started and support you in your day-to-day activities. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your cooperation skills and network with the best talents of your industry.

You will be working with:

• Updating or creating some design instructions
• Taking part to development tasks mentored by electrical lead engineer
• Opportunity to learn the principles of Vertex 2D and NX 3D mechanical design program
• When NX 3D engineering skills increases it is possible to:
  • Update existing models and keep templates up to date
  • Create new ones
  • Parametrise models etc.
• Depending on earlier experiences also executing of lead engineering tasks are possible

What kind of talent are we looking for?
This role is ideal for an engineering student who is eager to learn more about mechanical engineering tasks. You are welcome to Konecranes as yourself, but we especially value your good teamwork skills, hard-working attitude, and enthusiasm for developing yourself. Our work environment is highly international, so proficiency in English and the courage to work in an international work environment are important. Other language skills are beneficial.

Requirements:
- Academic background in e.g. mechanical engineering (preferably 3rd -4th year studies and minimum of 150 etc)
- Experience in mechanical design and the tools used (e.g. Siemens NX 3D) and understanding of statutory framework, i.e. valid standards and regulations from working life or studies
- You know how to use traditional IT-programs e.g. Microsoft Office, Email, etc.
- Earlier work experience in similar tasks is seen as a beneficial
