Mechanical Engineer, Tanks and Vessels

Your scope of responsibility will be mainly focused on PED tanks, vessels and similar, including safety classified equipment of nuclear power plant. However, it will be adjusted based on successful candidate background. 

As a Tanks and Vessels Mechanical Engineer you are responsible within area of your competence for the mechanical equipment requirements, design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning. You coordinate mechanical component related activities with NPP suppliers, Fennovoima’s departments and Safety Authorities during all phases of the project. You also follow up design, manufacturing and approvals schedule. You will ensure that suppliers follow the applicable requirements (YVL Guides, EPC Requirements, EN norm and standards etc.) and in case of need support them. You will follow in your own work and suppliers activities high safety culture principles during the whole process.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • At least 5 years’ work experience
  • Knowledge of applicable European norms and standards is mandatory
  • Knowledge of applicable Finnish and Russian norms and standards and YVL guide requirements is highly appreciated
  • Experience in design, manufacturing, inspections of mechanical components
  • Professional background in nuclear field and awareness of nuclear safety culture are appreciable
  • Experience  in technical audits and supplier assessment
  • Experience in international projects is an advantage
  • Fluent English language, Finnish and Russian are an advantage

Your tasks include e.g.

  • Review and approval of design documentation and analyses in your area of responsibility, including determining the necessary scope, completeness and quality
  • Review and approval of technical specifications and construction plans
  • Participation in supplier evaluation and technical assessment audits
  • Follow up of the mechanical component manufacturing at supplier's facility and at site
  • Co-operation with Safety Authorities
  • Preparation of project procedures

Work location: The work location at first is in Helsinki office but starting in Pyhäjoki office can also be negotiated. Later the work location will be in Pyhäjoki.
