Marketing Demand Generation Manager

Metso is looking for a Marketing Demand Generation Manager to transform the way Metso creates demand for its products and services. This role can be located in Helsinki, Vantaa or in Tampere, Finland, and will be part of our global marketing team.


As a Marketing Demand Generation Manager, you will be responsible for developing a center of excellence for demand generation, creating our demand generation strategy and a framework for the business to use. You will also coordinate our marketing efforts to drive demand for Metso products and services. You will build relationships with the Business Areas (product management), Market Areas (regional sales teams) and with the web manager, who is responsible for Metso’s web sites. In essence, you will drive demand to help the sales teams prospect effectively and accelerate their pipeline.


Your responsibilities

  • Develop a best in industry demand generation strategy, implementation framework and governance model to drive Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) and improve quality of Sales Qualified Leads (SQL)
  • Work with Business Area Marketing on the development of effective inbound and outbound demand generation campaigns using our marketing automation software and various outbound and digital marketing channels such as web, display advertising and social media.
  • Partner with Business Area management, Business Area marketing and Market Area marketing teams to ensure campaign alignment and execution so we deliver a compelling customer centric message to customers
  • Support Market Area Marketing on the localization and execution of demand generation campaigns
  • Build effective ways to measure and report on the effectiveness of demand generation programs and operations globally through the entire demand funnel.
  • The governance and operations of the Pardot marketing automation system, the development and adoption of tools that expand demand generation capabilities (such as chatbots, chat and advertising solutions)
  • The development and implementation on common demand generation processes within Metso
  • Ensuring customer advocacy is part of all demand generation activities



This role would ideally suit someone who has industrial experience of demand generation, who is looking for a new challenge, or an experienced digital marketing consultant, who is looking to work in a global organization, and who would like to implement a transformation from beginning to end with operational responsibility for it moving forward.


To be successful in this role you should have

  • Relevant degree and 5 years B2B marketing experience with at least 2 years of building and managing demand generation and pipeline development programs (ideally in global settings)
  • A thorough understanding of the various marketing disciplines especially modern marketing techniques including demand generation techniques, Account Based Marketing, inbound and outbound marketing, marketing automation, chat technologies and data analytics.
  • A strong understanding of marketing automation technologies (ideally Pardot, Marketo or Marketing Cloud) and CRM systems (ideally Salesforce)
  • Experience providing integrated demand generation and lead management processes and implementing follow-up measurements across sales and marketing
  • Proven ability to work closely and successfully with both product and sales organizations.
  • Proven ability to successfully execute demand generation campaigns across multiple channels including email, nurture campaigns, paid and unpaid inbound marketing activities and partner marketing
  • Ability to work very independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams in multiple time zones and locations in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytics, reporting, project management and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire; positive attitude toward the needs of salespeople
  • Fluent English skills
