The ambition of the Consumer Board division is to be the global benchmark in high-quality virgin fibre cartonboard and the preferred partner to customers and brand owners in the premium end-use packaging and graphical segments. Our wide board and barrier coating selection is suitable for the design and optimisation of packaging for liquid, food, pharmaceutical and luxury goods.


We are looking for a dynamic and technically strong Manager, Sustainability LCA for the Stora Enso Consumer Board Sustainability team. The preferred location for the position is Imatra (Finland), but Helsinki (Finland) can also be considered. The person we are looking will have passion and experience in data-driven sustainability analysis and will work very closely together with the existing two LCA focused colleagues in the Stora Enso Consumer Board team.

You will report to SVP Sustainability, Division Consumer Board and your main duties will be:

  • Planning, execution and communication of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprint (CF) studies for internal and external customers
  • Responding to enquiries and supplying product specific environmental data to external and internal customers, associations and other stakeholders
  • Execution of Paper Profile, EU Ecolabel and other environmental product declaration or eco-label assessments to internal mill customers
  • Follow-up of development in LCA, CF, Water Footprint (WF), Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and eco-labelling methodology
  • Other tasks as agreed


  • You have a Master of Science (MSc) or higher degree in environmental science, engineering or equivalent. Experience with scientific publications is an advantage.
  • You have several years of former work experience in the area of life cycle assessment (methodology, models and tools).
  • Complex data processing is one of your fundamental strengths.
  • You are a flexible and result-driven team player who also enjoys independently engaging in projects.
  • You have knowledge on paper/board production and products: unit processes and environmental aspects of pulp, board and paper manufacturing.
  • You are proficient at writing clear, comprehensible reports.
  • You can express yourself fluently in English (orally and written).
  • Knowledge on composability testing and certifications will be regarded as advantage
