We are now looking for a Communications and Marketing Manager for a permanent position to manage communications and marketing within UPM Timber.

UPM Timber produces redwood and whitewood sawn timber for the joinery, packaging, distribution and construction industries. We use certified Nordic raw material and the latest sawmilling techniques to produce high quality sawn timber that fulfils our customers’ requirements. UPM Timber has four sawmills in Finland with a total annual capacity of 1.5 M cubic meters and our own sales network in Europe and Asia. UPM Timber employs around 410 people and its headquarters are in Tampere, Finland.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and implement internal and external communications plan
  • Drive development initiatives related to communications, brand and marketing within UPM Timber
  • Maintain, manage and develop all UPM Timber communication channels and materials
  • Manage UPM Timber media relations and contribute to a positive UPM visibility through cooperation with the network of colleagues and other stakeholders in the region.
  • Manage Timber intranet and internet sites as well as other communications channels (internal and external newsletters, info screens)
  • Align Timber communication and marketing activities with UPM corporate communications disclosure policy, brand and visual guidelines

Who you are

  • You have a relevant degree and at least five years of work experience.
  • You have excellent communication skills and previous experience in communications, social media and editorial work
  • You have ambition to influence and network with various internal and external stakeholders
  • You are comfortable with fast-paced environment, changing situations and hands-on work
  • Sufficient business acumen, ability to collaborate and take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • You are proactive, agile and have a positive can-do attitude
  • You are fluent in Finnish and English and willing to travel in Finland.
