In our new Electric Vehicle Systems (EVS) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supply.
Here’s where you’ll make an impact:
The role involves overseeing and managing all payroll processes within the organization, ensuring accurate and timely compensation, compliance with labor laws, and adherence to collective agreements in a shift-based work environment. It necessitates a strong understanding of collective agreement terms and requires leadership skills to guide the team efficiently in executing payroll tasks. The position is crucial for maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring organizational compliance with labor regulations. Successful execution of the role also depends on strong collaboration and negotiation skills, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of labor relations issues.
The main tasks will include:
- lead smooth communication and cooperation with the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring the accurate and timely exchange of relevant information for the payroll process, and overseeing the integration of outsourced services into the organization's payroll system
- ensure that the payroll activities align with the terms outlined in the collective agreement, including wage rates, benefits, and other relevant provision
- create and maintain schedules for employees working in shifts, considering factors like work-hour regulations, overtime, and fair distribution of workload
- stay informed about and ensuring adherence to local, country labor laws and regulations to prevent legal issues related to payroll and employment practices
- provide guidance and supervision to the HR Services team, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle payroll responsibilities effectively and efficiently
- ensure the annual payroll processes of the company are working
We hope that you would have:
- degree in business administration, human resources, law or alike with the relevant work experience and knowledge in employee/industrial relations and collective agreements, preferably in technology industries
- at least 5 years’ experience in HR
- in-depth knowledge and proficiency in payroll processes, including understanding tax regulations, deduction calculations, and familiarity with payroll software to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
- ability to interpret and apply the terms outlined in collective agreements, ensuring that payroll practices align with negotiated agreements, such as wage rates, benefits, and other contractual provisions
- strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with outsourced payroll providers, internal teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth information flow and addressing any payroll-related issues promptly
- deep knowledge of Labor laws and regulations, demonstrating a commitment to compliance and the ability to implement changes in payroll practices to meet legal requirements and mitigate potential risk
- good leadership skills to guide and supervise the HR service team, fostering a positive working environment, and ensuring that the team is well-coordinated, motivated, and capable of handling payroll responsibilities efficiently
- fluent Finnish and English language skills
