Manager, Business Control for RW / Metals, Ash & Slag

Your role

Business Control Centre (BCC) is centralized business controllers unit in Corporate Finance, which is delivering flexible and efficient business controlling services Fortum wide excluding Russia and Co-owned companies. BCC is also accountable for business control process and finance business intelligence tools development. Today we have ~60 professional controllers in eight different countries targeting to scalable, value adding and more unified business controlling support.

We are now looking for a Manager, Business Control to BCC unit with focus to City Solutions Division, Recycling and Waste Business Area (RW BA), which works together with its customers to build smart and sustainable solutions for waste streams. We ensure the circulation of waste into valuable materials, and the removal of harmful substances from the material cycle. Your focus area in the RW BA will be in Metals, Ash & Slag Business line which has customers and operational sites in the Nordic countries.

As a Manager, Business Control you will be part of Metals, Ash & Slag unit management team working closely with business by supporting and challenging them through performance follow-up, business case analysis and impacting decision making from financial point of view in co-operation with other finance professionals internationally Fortum wide. You are responsible for providing financial performance reporting, analysis and have a central role in supporting the business in their long-term forecasting process. In this role understanding the commodity markets and their impact to inventory valuation is of importance. Also legal company governance and compliance for the companies not yet integrated to Fortum group are part of your responsibilities. You will also secure that BCC processes and tools are implemented efficiently in your responsibility area.

The position can be located at Fortum Headquarters in Espoo, Finland or alternatively at RW Metals, Ash & Slag offices (Riihimäki and Ikaalinen) and reporting to Head of BCC Finland.

Your qualifications

You have an academic degree in Economics and proven track record in business controlling from an international business environment preferably in big corporation but also understand what kind of finance support smaller legal companies require. Based on previous work tasks you are able to convince us that you are individually capable to work in industrial environment and support the business through value driver and key performance indicator reporting, business case analysis, customer and product profitability analysis, analyzing impact of commodity price fluctuation impacts to inventory valuation, understand revenue recognition possibilities for different types of products and contracts and have proven track record in implementation of standardized finance processes to daily life.

As a person you are business oriented finance professional having excellent communication and collaboration as well as influencing skills. You have hands-on attitude and take initiative to improve business as well as finance processes further and deliver results. You are constructive challenger with can do -attitude and a good team player.

To succeed in this role frequent travelling is required.

Good knowledge of finance systems and business intelligence tools are required.

You are fluent in Finnish and English.
