We use latest technologies in engineering, equipment, instrumentation and automation. We are committed to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and customer requirements (where applicable) in our plant and equipment deliveries.

We are looking for a Senior Specialist - Machinery safety for our Delivery Organization within our Minerals Processing business unit, to be based in Espoo.

As Machinery Safety Specialist, you will:

  • Support and develop machinery safety relating matters in machinery deliveries and in product development
  • Train and develop machinery safety competences in the engineering and product organizations
  • Support product compliance matters, as per legal requirements and directives, EN-standards, company standards and customer requirements
  • Support and facilitate machinery safety risk assessment
  • Participate in the Global Product Compliance management team
  • Develop product compliance management tools and templates
  • Co-operate with internal and external customers

To succeed, you will need:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc degree in mechanical or automation engineering
  • Strong competence in machinery safety and CE-marking, with in-depth understanding of Directives, EN-standards and machinery safety principles
  • Knowledge of process safety requirement and process safety risk assessment methods will give you an additional advantage
  • Understanding of and ability to apply functional safety standards (EN 62061 and/or EN ISO 13849) and to do verifications based on those
  • Knowledge of other countries’ regulations (outside of the EU) and their standard system requirements will give you an additional advantage
  • An ability to facilitate machinery risk assessments
  • Project oriented working methods and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, independently and pro-actively
  • Good communication, co-operation and networking skills and an ability to work with people from different cultures
  • Good spoken and written English (Finnish and other major languages will be an advantage)
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Outotec’s other locations
