Tietoa tehtävästä
Are you interested in how artificial intelligence and supercomputing can be leveraged for the benefit of society and the environment? Join our rapidly growing group of machine learning specialists, data engineers and data scientists in our mission to support leading research initiatives and develop open solutions for AI, using the largest AI platforms in Europe.
We are looking for Machine Learning Specialists to strengthen our team and to work on internal and external projects leveraging modern deep learning models on our supercomputing facilities. Our projects include supporting the training and use of large open language and foundation models, digital twin development under the European Commission's Destination Earth flagship initiative, and developing customer solutions for using cutting-edge AI tools and software. CSC hosts the LUMI supercomputer, which is ranked the fastest in Europe and is considered one of the world’s leading platforms for AI. Our supercomputers and clusters offer opportunities and challenges in parallelising and scaling the training of large deep learning workloads.
Your areas of interest include large-scale model training, execution and evaluation. Depending on your background, you could also possess experience in software development and machine learning engineering. You have a self-motivated approach to working and enthusiasm for professional development. You enjoy collaborating with customers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, ranging from researchers to companies within the AI sector. We rely on teamwork, task rotation and sharing responsibilities based on the background and interests of our team members.
Your skill profile could involve experience in topics including:
Hands-on knowledge of language or foundation models
Knowledge of (or desire to build skills in) large-scale model training, debugging, finetuning, execution, or evaluation
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, DeepSpeed)
Experience in high-performance computing and Linux
Further skills considered an asset include:
Software engineering methods and tools (MLOps)
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Singularity or Kubernetes)
Good communication skills in verbal and written English are essential for teamwork and collaboration with our customers. Experience of or willingness to participate in machine learning-related training and teaching activities is also considered a benefit, as is experience of working as part of international multi-partner projects.
We are a non-profit company and base our development work on open source and open collaboration. The position is permanent and can be located in our Espoo or Kajaani office. We also have flexible options for remote working.
