Job Description

We are looking for a Lean Specialist for our Valve Technology Center in Vantaa, Finland.

The role of the Lean Specialist is to support and coach plant management and teams to implement agreed Valve Operations Management System, which is based on Lean Philosophy. Typical areas are daily management, continuous improvement, systematic problem solving, risk management etc. Target is to standardize management system for whole Vantaa plant’s organization. 

Supporting and Coaching requires knowhow and understanding of LEAN philosophy, methods and tools. At this role, Lean Specialist is required to follow up and benchmarking lean development in Finland and in Global business network and adapt new improvements to Metso management culture. 

You will be a member of plant’s Manufacturing Engineering Team and report to the Development Manager. 


To Succeed 

To succeed in this position, you must have several (over 5) years’ experience from lean development in production environment. You have suitable education and certified Lean Six Sigma Black or Green belt. You must be familiar with Lean philosophy, methods and tools. You should be target-oriented and capable of independent work.  


To succeed in this position, you need to have following skills: 

  • Knowledge of Lean Philosophy 
  • Continuous Improvement 
  • Lean Tools, Daily management meetings, Kaizen, Gemba, Hoshin Kanri 
  • Systematic problem solving; A3, PDCA, JDI 
  • Risk Management; FMEA 
  • Quality Management is also and benefit 


You should be result-oriented coach and be able to work with different kind of people from different organization levels. You need to have good team working skills. You are fluent in English and Finnish, both written and verbal.
