In our new Electric Vehicle Systems business line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.
Here’s where you’ll make an impact:
Part of your job is to perform simulations in your own field of expertise. You have 3-year experience in FEA/FEM, CFD, EM or 1D system simulations. You are familiar with one major simulation software for example OptiStruct, RADIOSS, Star-CCM+, MATLAB/Simulink. Any experience of automotive batteries is an asset. You understand the product development process and how simulation is used in different phases of the development project.
Other part of your job is to develop and maintain simulation environment at Valmet Automotive EV Power. You are familiar with simulation hardware and software, preferably in both Windows and Linux environment. You should have a basic understanding of HPC clusters and their configuration.
In this role you will follow closely latest trends and solutions in simulation to be able to plan the future development of simulation systems at Valmet Automotive. You have a systematic approach to your work, and you are able to document it properly. You are able to create user instructions and management presentations.
You will be negotiating contracts with external partners, suppliers and software vendors in co-operation with simulation domain managers and sourcing. You will plan and schedule simulation environment maintenance and new hardware & software acquisitions as well as lead external partners. You will also participate into definition and planning phase of our Simulation PDM.
Your final job description will be decided together with your manager, based on your experience and preferences. Your primary location can be either our office in Turku, Salo or Uusikaupunki.
As a person, you are able to share your technical expertise and knowledge with others and to create new solutions by innovative thinking. Good co-operative skills and can-do attitude with some leadership experience will help you to succeed in future tasks. You should also be able to communicate clearly and precisely. You are fluent in English, but Finnish and German is an asset.
