We are currently recruiting a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D Mechanics team in Vantaa to work with world renowned Clinical and Industrial Analyzers and Automation Systems to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The team consists of around 10 mechanical engineers and in your role you would be responsible for leading a small team of mechanical engineers. You will also be working with different cross-functional stakeholders like project managers, product managers, scientists as well as software, usability, verification and validation engineers.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate mechanical team activities in development or sustaining projects. Share tasks and follow up the outcome. Team lead and management activities take roughly 50% of your time, design work other 50%
  • Collaborate with other professionals from different functions (R&D, production/process engineers, sourcing, marketing) and coordinate product changes
  • Provide technical mentoring, guidance and advice to other engineers/colleague
  • Participate product sustaining and CAPA handling in expert and coordinator role

What we are looking for:


  • Minimum 5-10 years in mechanical design / R&D role
  • Experience of 3D CAD programs, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experience in designing special purpose equipment/machinery
  • Lead Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Creative approach to problem-solving

Communication and drive:

  • Good spoken and written language skills (English, Finnish)
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills with all stakeholders
  • Passion towards continuous improvement, high quality and willingness to own and be accountable for design decisions
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver. Able to resolve complex problems independently and with the team
  • Ability to drive results and make necessary trade-offs effectively for multiple tasks simultaneously


  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in science (preferably mechanical engineer degree)

These will impress us even more:

  • Experience with IVD regulations
  • Excellent understanding of the R&D/development process in terms of managing and running a project from start to finish
  • Wide understanding on generic verification/validation processes and procedures
  • Industry background – medical devices / healthcare / instrumentation
