LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER to be employed by Sandvik

The position is permanent and located in Sandvik’s Turku site which is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading and hauling equipment. The recruitment process is handled by Staffpoint and the employment contract will be signed directly with Sandvik.

Your role is to do 3D concept engineering of hybrid vehicles and sub-systems. This includes e.g., designing prototypes and implementing final systems and designs for technology development purposes. With other BHEV team members, you specify mechanical requirements for the electrical powertrain and perform 3D layout engineering of the vehicle’s sub-systems. You will coordinate and support system suppliers in their work as well as collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience with some 3D CAD tools is mandatory. Understanding of e.g. liquid cooling systems and hydraulics of electric and hybrid vehicles is an advantage. The role does not include supervisory responsibility.

Edellytämme sinulta

You have a suitable degree in a relevant field preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering and have experience in heavy vehicles/machinery. Previous experience with electric and hybrid vehicles is an advantage.
You communicate fluently in English (Finnish is an advantage, not a must)
Understanding of safety-critical systems and the ability to give recommendations and reviews of potential solutions
Proactive and systematic way of working, and excellent problem-solving skills are needed to succeed
You enjoy making things happen and you are thrilled to act as an adaptive collaborator in your work community
You are a natural team player in a multicultural and international environment
