We are looking for a Lead Engineer, at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports, Marine Service Center unit in Helsinki, Vuosaari. In this position, you will be responsible for technical execution of systems in modernization projects for passenger vessels and icebreakers. You will coordinate and guide the work of the project engineering team, ensuring high-quality electrical system integration on schedule. In technical matters, you will be the single point of contact for the customer.

We require a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering. Several years’ experience and a proven track record in executing projects successfully as a system-level lead engineer is required, preferably in the marine business. We require 5 years of experience working as a lead engineer in a direct customer interphase. In order to succeed it is required that you have been directly responsible for the customer communication and involved and led the engineering work.
You have solid knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, such as generators, motors, drives, and switchboards. A background in system-level solutions is also essential. An understanding of the requirements of different classification societies is an advantage. You are a team player and have excellent social skills, a systematic way of thinking, and the ability to prioritize your tasks. You are familiar with a multi-project environment, and you can keep your functional ability under pressure.
You are ready to develop yourself and willing to travel. Fluent Finnish and excellent English skills are required; other language skills are an asset. You are proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and EPLAN, SAP skills are preferred.
