Lead Developer, Wealth Management
As a Lead Developer (Full stack) you will be analyzing business needs, planning the solution architecture together with the Tech Lead, guiding your team in implementation (as well as implementing and sometimes coding yourself), and finding ways to manage dependencies in our complex ecosystem. Your job varies from planning to hands-on implementation and guiding and mentoring your team. You work closely and communicate well with various stakeholders outside your team by using your superb negotiation skills.
You will join the op.fi development team, Savings and Investment Services, in the Wealth Management business area. The team consists of around 8 software development, testing and design professionals and is developing modern digital savings and investment services for almost a million private and corporate customers.
You will also contribute to our transformation and renewal programme where you together with the team create new solutions and develop the platform to serve better our customers, to meet the growth target and to keep the leading market position. Cloudification is another big transformation you get to work with in order to bring these solutions into the public cloud. In your role, one of your key responsibilities is to be driving the adoption of DevOps practices within the team to make it easier to build, deploy, test, and maintain these solutions. You will be working closely also together with business and marketing.
OP is currently executing a large-scale DevOps transformation. Teams are improving solution architecture, automating CI/CD pipelines and taking in increasing amounts ownership of service operations. We embrace the 10:20:70 rule and reserve time for improving day-to-day working and learning. In our Agile teams all tasks are prioritized through one backlog owned by the team. Mentality is to empower the teams and give them freedom on decision making. Our teams utilize Scrum or Kanban based on their own needs. Agile ceremonies are followed, but common sense is used on implementation of them. That's why we hope that you enjoy working in a team and you are an active team member. Improving our practices is a task for us all. Sprints cycles are extended with quarterly planning session to improve the cooperation within the tribe and between the tribe.
What we hope from you
A solid background in programming is essential for this role, as is experience with public cloud services. Your strong analytical skills enable you to problem solve independently, as well as mentor and coach others. You are fluent in English and being able to communicate in Finnish is a big plus. In this developer role it is beneficial if you have worked with both back and front-end technologies and solutions; back-end for the dependencies and front end for the eServices. To thrive in this kind of environment, you should be proficient in several of these technologies:
- Spring framework
- Test Automation
- CI/CD pipelines
Experience in the following is seen as advantageous:
- Enterprise Agile
- Building Test Automation on multiple levels
- Designing highly available, and secure systems
- Various integration techniques
- Working in DevOps culture
- Interest or experience in Finance: investing and savings
