Lead Developer - Full Stack

No niin: do you actually believe that one person can actually be known as a full stack developer? We actually think so too : ) now that many of us are stuck in Uusimaa, we are looking for a real multi-talented individual who is an expert on mobile, web and backend (native iOS and Android) and who can safely dub themselves, full stack! ReactNative, NodeJS, Ruby on Rails is your tech stack flavor.


Last year OP began a fascinating cultural transformation, embarking on an overall path towards Agile, dubbed OP Ketterä. While we continue getting closer and closer to ‘tribe’ and team autonomy, our focus has simultaneously headed towards technical alignment and sustainable development, building a real engineering and developer culture. Less a bank and more a technology house, we have started seeing tangible improvements and increased efficiencies, while our internal cohesion and fulfillment is actually, joyous! Imagine that.
The Situation:
We have an ambitious recruitment plan this year (even while society and humanity as we know it is in complete disarray). Our product development must go on, as will our recruitment! We are therefore seeking 10+ talented Lead Developers, in brand new roles, to code, create, lead, build, design, and propel. Some are fullstack (like this one), others are backend focused (or front end too). 50+% coding in Java, Springboot, React, some AWS, throw in some machine learning and AI maybe, some data centric analysis. We have multiple teams/tribes with multiple roles and varying technological and product development focus.
The remaining parts of the job are in design, solution architecture, mentoring small but clever teams, and making other important strategic choices and decisions. The small cloud part for example, can have a big impact, as you will partly get to decide how we move forward with AWS.
You will develop requirements, you will code, design, implement. This is not a PM role, rather you will lead the vision of technical things with normal technical work, problem solving and in analyzing production problems while we constantly improve our methods. You will get to influence how we work, not just what we are building. You will work with several other highly talented teams of developers, with plenty of opportunity for you to think and practice what you’ve learned.
Who are you?
You understand architecture, you know how to lead technical development. You understand cloud solutions, you are a versatile developer from a wide background, and you are excellent at coding. You have strong interest in improving quality and processes related to the development of technology solutions. You need to understand how to design and implement good APIs. You are interested in figuring out how the whole system works, across multiple teams.

This specific job: is on the Pivo Services Dev team. You will define and design new Pivo service integrations, you will implement them and lead the Pivo dev team from Services point of view. 50% coding, the rest is shared between design, architecture, mentoring and leading others (as described above). Full stack all the way!
