SOK IT & Development
We are a collection of 400 unique and diverse talents in Finland inside the 40,000 person S-Group which is Finland’s largest private employer. We are tasked with providing expert and strategic guidance to all of S-Group, its cooperatives and its owners, who are ultimately, millions of regular Finns. So essentially our shareholders, are you! We are uniquely positioned inside S-Group with billions of rows of data from multiple use cases and business domains, all intimately connected to Finns as they/we go about our daily routines. We build SW products, apps and services highlighted by the regular dialogue between digital and IRL worlds, which genuinely makes our work consistently intriguing. The Team: Digital Promotions
Our team of 4 devs is responsible for quite a few interesting and useful services for our customers. We work on promotions banners for mobile apps, S group websites and mobile applications (and there a lot of those). We facilitate and develop all sorts of features and functionality revolving around redemption, coupons, promotional cash back, etc. We use the microfrontend pattern to implement on different channels via mobile and web. We work with tons of data, there is customer marketing and promotion, digital marketing to a huge volume of people.
We employ functional teams where the business and design experts work with you and your devs. Our mathematicians and data scientists work hand in hand with us in a unique cohesive style, while we bring much needed heavy dev power.
Our new team has just been put together, and needs a mentor! We have excellent experience already, what we are looking for is a shaper with a generalist attitude (meaning you know a fair amount about a lot). You will code over 50%. With your experience in cloud native applications and infrastructure, you will have full responsibility on building frontend and backend, deploying to the cloud, operating it in the cloud and implementing testing. You’ll have complete oversight of creating and releasing the services we are responsible for.
You are not alone of course, you will as said work closely with the business and design teams, where you will plan and facilitate planning of each services and their development, creating and maintaining all new features.
Tech Stack / Requirements:
We use databases for heavy data solutions like Datomic
Closure, Python for calculations
React, typescript for frontend
AWS for deployments
AWS S3 bucket and DynamoDB too
We expect you to bring:
Strong software engineering background, including cloud (AWS) deployed software
Experience in designing modern digital service architecture, especially data-heavy solutions for large-scale companies
Experience in building omnichannel services, which scale to multiple mobile and web channels
Experience and drive how to lead development work and the team
Interest in customer centric digital service development
Seniority in common programming language skills
Good understanding of agile software development, analytics, QA, DevOps, test automation, and related technologies
In work-related matters you communicate fluently in English
