Lead Buyer, Pulp and Power plant machinery - Sourcing Finland.

Stora Enso Sourcing and Logistics is looking for a clear, visible and courageous person to lead and develop the procurement in area of Pulp and Power plant. Primary responsibility is to formulate and execute strategies for all services and products and in the respective categories for all mills in scope with the target to deliver lower cost for the required quality and service leading to the overall target, Source the Best Partners.

Based on the strategies, yearly procurement plans is to be established and implemented with the available internal resources in order to make best use of the existing supplier agreements. Additionally, key areas is to develop existing and future supplier base, which includes pre-qualifications in line with our Supplier Code of Conduct as well as to proactive lead continuous improvement efforts in close cooperation with selected key suppliers. The candidate will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes according One Sourcing Way.

You will report to the Director Sourcing Finland. Location can be any of the Stora Enso mill locations in Finland or Helsinki Head Office. This position requires travelling.

Key success factors:

  • Excellent cooperation with key stakeholders in operations/divisions and within Sourcing organization to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.

Key tasks:

  • Develop and execute category strategies with focus to deliver lower cost for needed quality and service with strong co-operation and liaison to global category managers
  • Create regional contracts and act as a regional coordinator for group wide service contracts
  • Capture cross-mills synergies.
  • For investment and standstill role: Bundle needs from regional units and negotiate specific contracts for projects. Bundle needs investment purchases and negotiate contracts as well as supports local investment purchases in the region
  • Build and execute yearly procurement plans for category that makes best use of available purchasing resources in liaison with Director Sourcing Finland.
  • Develop supplier base and propose solutions to business needs in close co-operation with sourcing director, global category managers, suppliers and business
  • Responsible to develop and adjust the supplier base in the category select and prequalify suppliers in category and especially from Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Run supplier development  for contracted suppliers with focus to make best use of existing agreements and drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor market development for new opportunities, prepare purchase volume and price forecasts as required with close cooperation with global category managers and maintains the price index for services in region
  • Contract Management ensuring usage and execution, development according to needs and help with potential claims, take corrective actions as needed and ensure involvement of legal in timely manner

Key performance indicators include Sourcing savings, Development of Sourcing spend, Sustainability of suppliers and implement best cost country sourcing strategy in own respective area.

Requirements

  • Formal competencies and experience:
  • 5+ years experiences within purchasing/strategic purchasing and/or supply chain management.
  • Collage/University degree in relevant area (engineering/technical or economics/finance).
  • Strong understanding of technology and processes in Pulp and Power plant area
  • Good understanding of strategic sourcing practices and contract law
  • Strong supplier relations and negotiating skills, thorough understanding of supplier market and key drivers.
  • Good knowledge in written and spoken Finnish and English.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations.
  • Solid team player with ability to work independently and in an international context.
  • Solid analytical skills. Able to define and understand the most critical issues and to set and manage structure.
  • Proactive, result oriented, willing to take initiative and responsibility.

  • Process and applications skills: SAP MM or similar, MS Office, Outlook.
