Legal Counsel

Joining us, a leading infrastructure company in Finland, as a Legal Counsel is a great opportunity to create a visible and long-lasting impact on how infrastructure is built in today’s and tomorrow’s society. In this position you will be part of Destia’s legal and internal audit team which offers efficient no-nonsense solutions to enable successful business operations on all levels within Destia. Despite independent roles, we at legal team are committed to succeed together.

Our legal team is responsible for all legal issues within Destia group (however, generally excluding HR and taxation). The tasks of a legal counsel are mostly focused on supporting project teams in their daily legal matters, such as contracts, public procurement as well as other general legal advice and training of project teams. Subsequently, we value earlier experience within the fields of construction and urban development.

According to its new strategy 2019-2023, Destia will grow into a stronger urban developer in a changing, increasingly demanding operating environment. At the same time, Destia will chart new business opportunities in Northern Sweden and Northern Norway. Therefore, excellent Finnish and English skills are required, while professional proficiency in Swedish or Norwegian is an asset.

The person we are looking for has a proven track-record from infrastructure, construction and/or urban development matters. You may have background e.g. as an in-house counsel for an industrial company or as a lawyer in a law firm. You are expected to have a broad knowledge of (and keen interest in) different areas of legal system and you should have a Master of Laws degree (or similar) from Finland. A degree completed in another Nordic country, combined with relevant post-graduate work experience in Finland, may also be applicable.

The position will be located at Destia’s headquarters in Vantaa. However, our projects are spread across the Nordic countries and therefore you are expected to travel in Finland and abroad as well.

For more information about the position and working at Destia, please contact Director Minna Heinonen, 040 5694 757, available on July 2nd 2-4 pm, July 4th 10-12 am and on July 29th 10-12 am or at minna.heinonen@destia.fi.  Please apply online by clicking "Apply for this position" by July 31st, 2019. However, the position may be filled before the aforementioned time. Be sure to include your salary expectation in the application.
