Laboratory Technician (fixed-term)
At the Industrial biotechnology and food solutions, we work in multidisciplinary teams and in close collaboration with our clients in creating sustainable industrial biotechnical solutions. Protein production, enzyme discovery, metabolic engineering, systems biology and fermentation technologies are researched in our state-of-the-art facilities.
We are now looking for a Laboratory Technician to act as a fixed-term parental leave substitute to work on projects involving industrial microbes.
With us you will be responsible for
The work comprises laboratory experiments in research projects supervised by scientists. The research team where you will be working develops methods for the establishment of novel enzymatic pathways and regulatory genetic circuits to control microbial cell performance.
A central target is to establish efficient engineering methods for industrially relevant organisms for the sustainable production of chemicals and proteins. You will be working together with scientist and fellow laboratory technicians to engineer microbial cell factories using modern molecular biology and genome engineering methods.
We expect you to have
We expect you to have a laboratory technician education and work experience in molecular biology research. Competence in basic gene technology techniques (MoClo cloning, Gibson assembly) and experience working with yeast or filamentous fungi is considered as an asset. The work requires good written and spoken English, as well as the capabilities to work as a part of an international research team.
