Laboratory technician / Laboratory assistant, Helsinki
We are looking for a Laboratory technician for a temporary position to our R&D laboratory located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. The employment contract is a fixed-term project contract for about one (1) year. You will support our R&D researchers in their work with bioprocess development and help in running bioreactor experiments and other small lab scale activities. A significant part of your work includes taking samples from bioreactors, sample preparation and their analysis with LC. You will also report analysis results to our researchers. One part of your work will be to support our production facilities and analyse bioethanol samples by GC and IC. Also, general laboratory maintenance tasks are part of your daily responsibilities. The position might require occasional traveling in Finland. You will be a part of our Bioprocess Development team in the Biorefining Business Development & Production Unit.
To succeed, you should be both independent and able to work in a team. You should have an innovative and open attitude and willingness to learn new. Good written and verbal communication skills in Finnish are required. You will need English skills to be able to solve problems with laboratory equipment and to understand Nordic review sessions.
We expect you to have basic knowledge / experience on LC, IC and GC analysis and instrumentation. Experience in carrying out microbial work and laboratory scale bioprocesses with enzymes, yeasts and fungi will be regarded as an advantage but not obligatory for this position. Your educational background would preferably be vocational or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biosciences or related field with relevant working experience.
