As our trainee, you will support the Sustainability Assessment team in Core R&D Products and Applications sustainability implementation projects. Your area of responsibility for the summer job includes the following tasks:
Information search and summaries for various project tasks
Compilation of research data for reporting
Literature searches
Compilation of analysis results
Depending on the situation, possible laboratory work
Other auxiliary work as needed
Through the assignments, you will gain experience in various applications of sustainable development and chemistry, fuel and chemical processes and end products, as well as fuel uses, and you will be able to participate in Neste's R&D activities. You work closely with the sustainability assessment, fuel, engine and chemical groups.
We also look for students that have the possibility for Master Thesis work after summer work and possibly for hourly work.
We have work locations in Kilpilahti R&D center in Porvoo and in HQ Keilaranta Espoo. Remote work is part of our team working habits.
The team consists of 12 professionals, and the main job of the Sustainability Assessment Team is to provide science-based sustainability expertise. The team is responsible for LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), GHG (Greenhouse Gas Calculations) and information generation related to fuel and chemical industries to support Neste sustainability strategy. We will guide and support you and give a good introduction for the job and our company. For the Sustainability Assessment Team: Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to be at the final stages of your studies in Energy Processes and Sustainability or a similar, relevant field. You are motivated to learn new things, and you thrive in a group where safety, responsibility and professionalism are the driving forces behind the work.
In addition, we see that the best combination of studies, work experience and skills in this position is:
Initial or slightly more advanced studies
Previous possible work experience in the field is an advantage
Teamwork skills
English language skills are essential

Your salary will be determined based on the job and its requirements, your relevant previous working experience and the number of course credits you have from your studies.
