KAHTA KAMARIPIANISTILEHTORIA  

viiden vuoden määräaikaiseen työsuhteeseen 1.8.2019–31.7.2024. Määräaikaisuuden perusteena on koulutuksen jatkuvaan kehittämiseen ja uudistuvalle opetukselle asetettaviin vaatimuksiin liittyvä joustavuuden tarve.

Lehtori työskentelee klassisen musiikin osastolla Pianon, harmonikan, kitaran ja kanteleen aineryhmässä (PIMU) Helsingissä, joka on yksi osaston kymmenestä aineryhmästä. Kamaripianistien vastuualue PIMUn tarjoamasta koulutuksesta on kuitenkin suunnattu pääosin muiden aineryhmien, erityisesti jousisoitinten ja puhaltimien aineryhmien instrumenttikoulutuksessa oleville opiskelijoille.

Lehtorin tehtävät

Lehtorin vuosittainen kokonaistyöaika on 1624 tuntia, josta 455 tuntia on kontaktiopetusta. Opetukselliset tehtävät voivat sisältää varsinaisen kamaripianistin työn lisäksi myös kamari- ja pianomusiikin opetusta. Tehtävän täysipainoinen hoitaminen edellyttää pääsääntöisesti viikoittaista työskentelyä opiskelijoiden kanssa sekä yhteistyötä akatemian jousisoitin- ja puhallinopetuksesta vastaavien professoreiden ja muiden opettajien, kuin myös aineryhmän johtajan sekä kamaripianistikollegion kanssa.

Jousisoitinten ja puhaltimien aineryhmien n. 300 opiskelijaa soittaa suurta osaa ohjelmistostaan pianistin kanssa ja myös muiden aineryhmien opiskelijat voivat tarvita pianistia instrumenttiopinnoissaan. Kamaripianistin keskeisenä tehtävänä on opiskelijoiden (lehtorilla keskimäärin 25 - 30 jousisoitin- ja puhallinopiskelijaa / lv) ohjelmiston harjoittaminen sekä sen esittäminen opinnäytteissä ja muissa Sibelius-Akatemian järjestämissä konserteissa, tarvittaessa kaikilla yliopisto-opetuksen tasoilla. Hänen tehtäviinsä lukeutuu kamaripianistina toimimista myös opiskelijavalinnoissa sekä akatemian järjestämillä eri instrumenttien mestarikursseilla. Kamaripianistilla voi lisäksi olla ohjattavanaan joitakin kamariyhtyeitä ja piano-opiskelijoita. 

Opetus- ja esiintymistehtävien lisäksi lehtori osallistuu aktiivisesti opetusalansa vastuulla olevan koulutuksen ja siihen liittyvän taiteellisen toiminnan suunnitteluun, organisointiin ja kehittämiseen. Hän seuraa oman alansa kehitystä, osallistuu aineryhmän säännöllisiin kokouksiin ja työryhmiin sekä tarpeen mukaan myös Taideyliopiston hallintoelimien työskentelyyn sekä muuhun kehittämistyöhön.

Valintakriteerit

Lehtorilta edellytetään soveltuvaa ylempää korkeakoulututkintoa. Käytännön työssä hankittu vahva kokemus ja erityiset taiteelliset ansiot voivat kuitenkin korvata puuttuvan tutkinnon. Tehtävän menestyksellinen hoitaminen edellyttää sitoutumista, korkeatasoista muusikkoutta ja oman instrumentin hallintaa, laajaa eri tyylikausien ja eri instrumenttien ohjelmiston tuntemusta ja osaamista, erinomaista esiintymis- ja opetustaitoa, hyvää yhteistyökykyä sekä kykyä kehittää laajasti tehtäväalaansa ja siihen liittyvää koulutusta.  Soveltuva tohtorintutkinto katsotaan eduksi.

Hakijan ansioita arvioitaessa otetaan huomioon:

• soveltuva koulutus ja pedagogiset opinnot
• taiteelliset ansiot
• toiminta kamaripianistina, erityisesti korkeakoulutasoisessa tai kansainvälisessä ympäristössä
• pianistiset taidot
• opetustaito
• laaja perehtyneisyys eri instrumenttien ohjelmistoon
• keskeisten tyylikausien esityskäytäntöjen tuntemus ja hallinta
• näytöt yhteistyö- ja organisointikykyä vaativista asiantuntija- ja luottamus- tai kehittämistehtävistä sekä kansainvälisestä verkostoitumisesta

Hakijan soveltuvuus arvioidaan sekä käytettävissä olevan dokumentaation perusteella että erillisessä soveltuvuuden arviointitilaisuudessa, jossa hakijan taitoja ja soveltuvuutta arvioidaan suhteessa tehtäviin ja toimintaympäristön vaatimuksiin. Soveltuvuuden arviointi järjestetään Helsingissä 13.-14.4.2019. Tilaisuuteen valittaville lähetetään esitys- ja opetusnäytteen sisältö 13.3.2019 mennessä.

Soveltuvuusarvioinnin kielet ovat suomi ja englanti.

Kielitaito

Kamaripianistin tehtävän opetuskielet ovat suomi, ruotsi ja englanti. Kotimaisilta hakijoilta edellytetään erinomaista suomen tai ruotsin kielen osaamista sekä hyvää englannin kielen taitoa. Ulkomai­silta hakijoilta edellytetään hyvää englannin kielen hallintaa. Kielitaito arvioidaan suhteessa työtehtäviin ja osoitetaan soveltuvuusnäytteessä. Dekaani voi päättää kielitaitovaatimuksista poikkeamisesta.

Kotimaisilta hakijoilta vaaditaan jokin seuraavista toisen kotimaisen kielen hallinta­a osoittavista todistuksista

1. valtion kielitutkintolautakunnan jäsenen tai vara­jäsenen antama todistus tai muulla suomen ja ruotsin kielen taidon osoittamisesta valtionhallinnossa annetussa asetuksessa (481/2003) säädetyllä tavalla (esim. korkeakoulun tutkintotodistus, jossa on maininta kielikokeen suorittamisesta);
2. suomalaisen korkeakoulun ao. kieltä opettavan professorin, apulaisprofessorin tai lehtorin antama todistus;
3. ylioppilastutkintotodistus, jossa on ao. kielen hyväksytty arvosana.

Palkkaus

Palkkauksessa noudatamme yliopistojen yleisen työehtosopimuksen mukaista opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön palkkausjärjestelmää. Tehtävä sijoittuu vaativuustasolle 5-6, ja lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaista palkanosaa. Palkka on työsuhteen alkaessa noin 3100-4100 euroa.

Valintaprosessi

Klassisen musiikin osaston dekaani päättää rekrytointiryhmän asiantuntijoiden esityksen perusteella, ketkä hakijoista kutsutaan soveltuvuusarviointiin. Soveltuvuusarvioinnin jälkeen rekrytointiryhmä tekee valintaehdotuksen. Osaston osastoneuvosto lausuu näkemyksensä rekrytointiryhmän valintaehdotuksesta, minkä jälkeen Sibelius-Akatemian dekaani päättää lehtorin valinnasta. Tavoitteena on tehdä valinta toukokuussa 2019.

Hakeminen

Hakumenettely on kaksiosainen:

1. Hakemus tulee toimittaa liitteineen sähköpostitse yhtenä pdf-tiedostona Sibelius-Akatemian kirjaamoon osoitteeseen siba.kirjaamo@uniarts.fi viimeistään 3.3.2019 klo 23.59 otsikolla kamaripianistilehtori. Vastaanotetuista hakemuksista lähetämme vastaanottokuittauksen lähetysosoitteeseen.

Ennen työsopimuksen laatimista tehtävään valittu toimittaa yliopistolle oikeaksi todistetut jäljennökset mm. tutkinto- ja kielitaitotodistuksistaan.

Taideyliopiston tavoitteena on käyttöönottaa opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön urajärjestelmä (tenure tracks) vuoden 2019 aikana. Taideyliopiston urajärjestelmä tulee koostumaan professorin ja lehtorin vakinaistamispoluista.  Taideyliopisto varaa oikeuden arvioida avoinna olevan tehtävän sijoittumista lehtorin vakinaistamispolulle vakinaistamiskriteereiden valmistuttua. Tässä rekrytoinnissa kysymykseen voi tulla seuraavat urapolun vaiheet: yliopisto-opettaja tai lehtori.

The Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki is opening posts for

TWO CHAMBER PIANIST LECTURERS

for a fixed-term post of five years during the period of 1 August 2019 – 31 July 2024. The fixed nature of the contract is based on the need for flexibility, as set by the demands to continuously develop education and reform teaching.

The Lecturer will work in the Department of Piano, Accordion, Guitar and Kantele in Helsinki, one of the ten departments of the Faculty of Classical Music. The chamber pianists’ area of responsibility within the department’s education is, however, directed primarily for students in other departments, especially those in the string and wind instrument departments.

The Lecturer’s tasks

The total working time of the Lecturer is 1,624 hours per annum, including 455 hours of contact teaching. In addition to the actual chamber pianist tasks, the work may also include teaching of chamber and piano music. Carrying the assigned tasks in full will require, on the whole, working weekly with students and collaborating with professors teaching string and wind instruments as well as other teachers, including the head of department and chamber pianist colleagues. 

The approximately 300 students of the string and wind instrument departments play the majority of their repertoire with a pianist, and students from other departments may also need a pianist in their instrument studies. A key task of the chamber pianist is to perform the repertoire of students (an average of 25–30 string and wind instrument students / academic year) in theses and other concerts arranged by Sibelius Academy, on all university education levels, if necessary. The tasks include working as a chamber pianist in admissions and master classes arranged by the academy in the different instruments. The chamber pianist may also be tasked with guiding chamber ensembles and piano students.

In addition to teaching and public performance tasks, the Lecturer will actively take part in planning, arranging and developing the education and artistic work falling under the teaching field in question. They will monitor the development of their field, participate in the department’s regular meetings and work groups, and when necessary, the work of the administrative bodies of University of the Arts Helsinki as well as other development work.

Selection criteria

The Lecturer is required to have a suitable higher university degree. Strong experience acquired from practical work along with particular artistic merits may, however, compensate for a missing degree. Carrying the tasks of the post successfully requires commitment, the highest level of musicianship and command of one’s instrument, extensive expertise and skills in the repertoire of different periods and instruments, excellent performance and teaching skills, good co-operative skills and the ability to develop the field of the position and related education. A suitable doctoral degree is considered an advantage.

The following factors will be considered in the evaluation of the applicant’s qualifications:

• Suitable education and pedagogical studies
• Artistic merits
• Activities as a chamber pianist, especially in the context of higher education or international environment
• Pianistic talent
• Teaching skills
• Extensive knowledge in the repertoire of different instruments
• Familiarity and command of the performance protocol of key periods
• Proof of experience in development tasks or expert and confidential posts that require co-operation and organisational skills, in addition to international networking

Based on applications and other available information, the university will call the strongest applicants for a separate demonstration of proficiency, where we will evaluate each candidate’s commitment, aptitude and competence in relation to the post of Lecturer and the demands of the working environment. The demonstration of proficiency will be arranged in Helsinki on 13 –14 April 2019. Those called in will receive the contents of the performance and teaching demonstration by 13 April 2019.

The evaluation will be conducted in English (and in Finnish).

Language proficiency

The teaching languages of the post of chamber pianist are Finnish, Swedish and English. From Finnish applicants, we require fluent Finnish or Swedish language skills, and proficiency in the other national language as well as in English. From non-Finnish applicants, we require strong English language proficiency. Skills are assessed in a proficiency demonstration. The Dean may decide on any deviations on the language proficiency requirements.

Finnish candidates are required to present one of the following certificates of proficiency in Finnish or Swedish:

1. A certificate signed by a member or deputy member of the State Board of Language Examinations, or in another manner prescribed by the Decree on the Demonstration of Knowledge of the Finnish and Swedish Languages in State Administration (481/2003) (e.g. by passing the language test included in the basic curriculum of a university-level institution);
2. A certificate issued by a professor, assistant professor, or lecturer who teaches the language in question at a Finnish university-level institution;
3. A matriculation examination certificate indicating a pass in the language in question.

Salary

The salary is determined in accordance with the salary system of Finnish universities. The task-specific salary component is on level 5–6. In addition, a personal salary component will be paid. The monthly salary at the beginning of the employment will be approximately EUR 3,100–4,100.

Selection procedure

On the basis of the proposal by the recruitment committee, the Vice Dean, Classical Music will decide which candidates will be invited to the demonstration of proficiency. After the demonstrations, the recruitment committee makes a selection proposal. The Faculty Council comments the proposal, and thereafter the Dean of the Sibelius Academy makes the decision on the appointment of the lecturer. The selection procedure is expected to conclude in May 2019.

Prior to the compiling of the employment contract, the successful candidate for the post must provide official copies of required degree diplomas and language proficiency certificates.

The University of the Arts Helsinki plans to implement tenure tracks for the teaching and researcher staff during 2019. The University of the Arts Helsinki’s tenure track system will consist of professor and lecturer tenure tracks. The University of the Arts of Helsinki reserves the right to evaluate the open position’s placement on the tenure track upon the completion of the tenure track criteria.
