IT Customer Relationship Manager, Aalto University, Espoo

Aalto University IT Services supports our researchers, teachers, students and other staff by producing world-class services that make their work easier, more flexible, comprehensive and secure regardless of time and location.

In this role, you will work as Aalto IT service unit’s strategic interface with School of Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, and significant Aalto research and teaching infrastructures. Key cornerstones in your role are IT development, IT solution advising, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.

You will serve as a linkage between the Aalto IT service unit and researchers, students and teachers and collaborate with school’s management and technical persons.

You will participate in decision-making, priority setting and communicate relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives. You will proactively serve as a “trusted advisor," and function as a key point of contact for schools.

You will represent Aalto IT service unit to the schools by promoting and communicating services and capabilities. You will also act as advocate on behalf of schools and infrastructures to ensure IT services meet their priorities and needs.

In order to succeed, we expect that you have:

Working experience with customers with a proven ability to deliver results.
Working experience within an IT or/and education environment.
Hands-on experience with cloud services.
BSc/BA in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
Proven track record of taking ownership and effectively managing long- and short-term projects, from start to finish.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage competing customer demands
Good presentation skills, comfortable in front of 5 - 50 people, including management level attendance.
Knowledge of business requirements and IT processes preferred.
Flexible, open-minded and collaborative attitude.
Ability to work independently and you are solution oriented.
Willingness and ability to learn.
In this role, you must be able to communicate clearly, consult, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances and achieve desired results using interpersonal and diplomacy skills. You will work closely with others on intangible issues across organizational and service-entity boundaries.
Aalto University is an international working environment, so we expect you to have a good command of English. Good command of Finnish is an advantage.
