Industrial Engineer

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer (IE) to join our Production System Development team in Murata Vantaa factory.
In this role you will be working in a team of other Industrial Engineers, Production Environment Development engineers and assistants. Your colleagues are top notch individuals, and we all enjoy working together. Besides industrial engineering, our team responsibilities include production environment development tasks such as clean room development and monitoring, 5S, Kaizen activities, production tool and furniture development etc.
Currently, our team focus is to expand the industrial engineering know-how and widen the IE role description. Our team level target is to make Murata production more effective and competitive while ensuring continuously better quality in production by utilizing new technologies. In industrial engineering side, the aim is to find the optimal and most productive operations while production development engineers create the high standard production conditions for better quality and continuous improvement.
We expect our industrial engineering section to be proactive, cost conscious and able to make productivity improvement decisions based on data-analysis. Guiding/supporting others, sharing information and monitoring production to find improvement opportunities are key actions in this role. Our team improvement has just started, and we still have one place for a future IE star. This is a great possibility to deepen your understanding about operations and financial aspect of production.
In this role your responsibilities include topics like
- Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) and production headcount planning
- Design and improvement of production layout
- Operator Standard Time (ST)/Machine Standard Time (MST) calculations
- Standard cost analysis
- Capacity planning & Economical evaluation
- Production system design – SOP, transportation, prod flow streamlining etc

In this role, you are not working alone. With more difficult cases our team and other colleagues are always ready to support and find good solution for difficult problems. At Murata we cultivate a strong culture of cross-functional teamwork, so you will have the chance to collaborate with and learn from members of other teams in our organization as well. You will give support to production supervisors and work closely with process development, R&D and finance.

We are looking for an individual with the ability to have broad view and motivation to improve current state. You have patience to make analysis of current situation and you get motivated once finding place for improvements. You are also persistent to promote and execute these productivity improvements from plan to implementation.
In order for you to succeed in this position, these are the essential qualities and skills we are looking for:
- Suitable technical education (e.g. B.Sc., M.Sc.), production engineering, industrial economy and management or similar preferred.
- Information gathering and data analysis is something you are interested and skilled
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact well with different people, and communicate findings and learnings to other parties in an understandable way
- Competence in financial calculations or aptitude for cost-oriented thinking
- Either fluent English or Finnish – knowledge of both languages is useful
