In our EV Systems business line we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.

Here's where you'll make an impact

We are now looking for a new HSEQ Engineer to join our Quality and HSE team in Salo. The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting operations in the Salo facility to ensure the team meets internal, national and international requirements. Working with the Salo Quality and HSE team, the HSEQ engineer will help to establish and maintain a culture of safe and responsible work and activities.

The HSEQ Engineer will work to develop and support ongoing actions in a number of areas, such as personal safety, fire safety, and production process safety. The HSEQ engineer will also support the local activities in organization and 5S standards, and responsibilities include conducting audits on factory areas to ensure they meet the standard.

The HSEQ Engineer may also be asked to support the development and implementation of international safety management systems, such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. The HSEQ Engineer will help to develop processes and methods, and may audit areas to verify that they meet or exceed the requirements set forth in the international standards.

This position is located in Salo and reports to the HSE Manager in Salo.

We wish you to have

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering or other relevant subject
• Knowledge of international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Experience in Health and Safety work areas, knowledge of sustainability considered as an advantage
• Knowledge or experience in manufacturing and warehousing
• Experience or professional training in 5S methods
• Experience or training in occupational health and safety risk assessments
• Knowledge of or experience in developing processes and procedures
• Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English
