In our Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.
The Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting operations in the Uusikaupunki EV facility to ensure the team meets internal, national, and international requirements. Working with the Uusikaupunki EV Quality and HSE team, the HSEQ engineer will help to establish and maintain a culture of safe and responsible work and activities.
The HSEQ Engineer will work to develop and support ongoing actions in a number of areas, such as personal safety, fire safety, and production process safety. The HSEQ engineer will also support the local activities in organization and 5S standards, and may conduct audits of areas to ensure they meet the standard.
The HSEQ Engineer will also work with the factory sustainability team to ensure that that facility moves towards environmentally responsible manufacturing. The HSEQ Engineer will act as an expert on environmental topics, including recycling, hazardous or dangerous goods, and risk management.
The HSEQ Engineer may also be asked to support the development and implementation of international management systems, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The HSEQ Engineer will help to develop processes and methods, and may audit areas to verify that they meet or exceed the requirements set forth in the international standards.
This position is located in Uusikaupunki and reports to the EV Quality Manager in Uusikaupunki.
We expect you to have
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering or other relevant subject
- Knowledge of international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO45001
- Experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental work areas
- Experience or professional training in 5S methods
- Knowledge of sustainability topics and processes
- Knowledge of or experience in developing processes and procedures
- Fluent spoken and written English; Finnish language skills beneficial
