In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.
We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team at the battery factory in Salo. This is an exciting new role in our team!
Job Responsibilities:
The Health, Safety and Environment Manager is a key member of the Salo management team, and will lead a small team of experts on topics related to facility Health, Safety and Environment. As the HSE Manager, you will work to ensure that the production and related processes are done in safe and environmentally responsible ways. The primary tasks will be related to areas such as preventing injuries, investigating incidents, developing site methods to international standards, material recycling rates, and 5S standards.
The HSE Manager in the Salo facility will play a key role in the training and development of team members. This will include planning, sourcing, and giving training on different HSE related topics, such as general safety, recycling and waste, and other topics. Additionally, the HSE manager will work with local organizations and authorities to have needed inspections done as required. You will also work to lead local site planning and actions related to emergency preparedness and rescue plans.
As the HSE Manager, you will work to support the Salo facility in attaining and maintaining critical systems certifications, such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001. This will include developing methods and documentation, ensuring proper record retention, and auditing of systems.
