The HR Business Partner/HR Manager works actively with the business leadership developing the business and driving People agenda of the Sustainable Products and Materials Business Area.

We are looking for an experienced innovative HR Business Partner/HR Manager with solid skills to develop and support the business and drive People agenda of the Sustainable Products and Materials Business Area Business Area (BA) with innovative thinking, positive energy and aligning actions to VTT’s values and strategy.

Your Responsibilities

The HR Business Partner/HR Manager supports and develops the business and People agenda of the business area in accordance with VTT´s values and strategy. S/he offers versatile support to the leadership of the business area whilst implementing VTT´s shared principles and considering the special needs of the area. The whole Sustainable Products and Materials Business Area organization is approximately 650 – 700 professionals. The HR Business Partner/HR Manager is part of the business area’s leadership team and reports to Senior Vice President, HR and in dotted line to Executive Vice President, Sustainable Products and Materials Business Area (BA).

In the role of HR Business Partner/HR Manager, you are responsible of:

Proactively driving, ensuring and supporting VTT’s strategy implementation in your business area in people perspective and excellence development matters
Bringing people perspective actively to your business area’s leadership team
Owning and actively leading VTT’s People agenda and its’ implementation in your business area
Owning, leading and coordinating the People agenda activities and processes in your business area
Coaching and supporting your business area’s leaders and managers in leadership and HR matters (including recruitment, personnel planning, talent management and well-being at work matters)
Participating in VTT level development projects and initiatives (both HR and business related)
Acting as an proactive and innovative member of the HR Leadership team creating in co-operation with your HR Leadership team colleagues the People agenda of VTT
Actively following global HR trends and bringing them to HR leadership team /Business Area discussions
Building VTT to be the most meaningful place to work together with your colleagues

Your Experience and Qualifications

MSc. or equivalent level from relevant field
Solid experience working as HR Business Partner from a midsize or large company or longer experience as HR Lead from a smaller company, preferably in an expert organisation
Solid experience in generalist HR expertise area, HR Employment Engagement activities and other processes
Experience from working in an international environment
Business driven thinking and people driven orientation (wellbeing)
Proactive problem solver: proactively acts on situations before they become a problem
Innovative and development oriented mindset
Solid cognitive skills to be able to make decisions effectively
Experience and capability to collaborate and lead others
Project Management skills
Solid communication, listening and coaching skills
Interested in developing self and others, keen on benchmarking global trends
Communicates fluently both Finnish and English
