CSC - IT Center for Science (Finland) is offering exciting positions where you will be part of our HPC programming support team enabling world class science on our national HPC infrastructure, the new European flagship supercomputers and especially on LUMI hosted by CSC. The work includes HPC application enabling (optimization, porting) for accelerated systems, but also for modern CPU based supercomputers.
As an HPC RSE your main duties and responsibilities include:
• Optimizing and porting codes to LUMI, other European exa-scale systems and the national supercomputing infrastructure.
• User training: Giving related training to users, and developing training material.
• User support: Helping our customers in utilizing HPC systems efficiently.
We are looking for persons with MSc or PhD in a field related to computational science or equivalent work experience. We appreciate expertise in HPC programming on clusters and supercomputers (C, C++, Fortran and parallelization methods such as MPI and OpenMP), GPU programming (e.g. Cuda/HIP, OpenACC, OpenMP) as well as code optimization, performance analysis and debugging tools. We also value international connections.
Strong interest in compute and storage technologies, and a good understanding of the hardware and system level software stack are considered as an advantage. We also appreciate scientific domain expertise in a field utilizing HPC.
The exact tasks can be tailored based on the skills and experience of the candidates. The levels of the positions (junior, mid-career, senior) can be adjusted based on the qualifications of the candidates.
