We are looking for a Head of Product Development to join Axopar growing community
You will lead our Product Development Engineering team which is a part of New Product Development function. Your team consist of both internal and external members, engineers and other specialist.
As a Head of Product Development, you will be in charge of our engineering activity, including people and budgetary management. Your role is to provide clear leadership and a vison, to inspire and motivate staff in achieving excellence. Your role is also to mentor and support your team’s continuous professional development. You work closely with various internal and external key stakeholders, such as product management, design, sales and production.
You are responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering design, from Concept Phase to Handover to production. You develop, plan and prioritise processes to ensure that resources are well aligned to maximise optimal project delivery, and that engineering and quality standards and procedures are appropriately adhered to. Your task is also to create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance. Your appraisal of concept requirements is crucial in ensuring that all various technical, legislative and commercial aspects are delivered for each project. As a Head of Product Development, you report to the Chief Technology Officer, the leader of the New Product Development.
What do we expect from you?
You could be the person we are looking for if you have minimum 5 years of experience on similar position. We expect you to have previous work experience in an international technical design or engineering environment, and to have previous Project Management experience; to have experience of leading complex technical projects and to be well acquainted with project work – managing engagement, resources, timetables and targets. Previous in-depth knowledge of technical and commercial boat production and construction will help you to succeed in this role.
Your educational background could be a Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Technical Design, preferably in Naval Design. Working in an international context, excellent English language skills are necessary and ideally you would also have good Finnish skills.
As a person you are resilient and not afraid of challenges. You have an entrepreneurial, business-oriented mindset and an ability to perform well under pressure. You are genuinely enthusiastic about the boat industry and are motivated to join and contribute to our rapidly growing business.
