This is the opportunity to join a start up that is just entering scaling mode and has an exciting growth journey ahead! We already have very nice traction in the Finnish market and are ready to scale, therefore are building a dream team. We’re looking for a Head of Operations / Country Manager to contribute to apomera.fi ’s success by serving as a key business partner to the Head of e-Commerce & Marketing, handle strategic supplier relations, and providing direction and leadership for the apomera.fi -team. The role is critical to the apomera.fi growth plan.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in e-commerce, preferably in Health & Pharma. Additionally, the candidate will possess strong supplier / brands relations, project management, communication and analytical skills, as well as experience working for a data-driven, direct-to-consumer e-commerce company. The Head of Operations / Country Manager will strive to deliver consistency in the customer experience from order to delivery and recurring purchases, and ensure a market-leading position for this company that aims to be #1 in Finnish health e-commerce.

What we are looking for:


  • Inspirational leadership and direction to the direct report team
  • Lead with strategic vision that is in alignment with the short and long-term goals and strategic plan
  • Cultivate positive, strong and transparent working relationships across the organization
  • Oversee and ensure all cross functional deliverables are met in accordance with assigned deadlines
  • Ensure the company delivers on its financial plans (sales, margin, contribution, inventory turns) 
  • Be part of the fundraising “roadshow” together with the Board & current main investors to secure future financing

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Identify a strategy for execution in alignment with long-term and also the more short-term tactical plan - “Done is better than perfect”

  • Set strategic priorities to drive revenue and increase market share 

  • Full P&L responsibility apomera.fi

  • Leverage customer insight and monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks and, based on those, recommend strategies and tactics forward

  • Category & product planning and pricing: identify and act upon any gaps and opportunities, and be the main contact for the company’s suppliers and brands.

  • Develop the product adding process and find the necessary tools to manage product information

  • Analyze trends in customer service and implement improvement to address common issues and make it scalable; collaborate with customer service and logistics to ensure a best-in-class customer experience

  • Ensure that the accounting and other laws that the company is regulated under, are followed through proper processes and manage day to day finance, legal and HR tasks

  • Work closely with Marketing and IT on website to maximize return through testing, site optimization, and improving online customer experience

  • Overall responsibility for IT 3rd party management 

And hey, this is a startup soon to be scaleup - so to be super clear:

You will be responsible for Business Development, Finance, Legal, HR, and on a strategic level you will also have the responsibility for Logistics, Customer Support, IT . Sounds a lot maybe, but is absolutely possible and you do have team support in executing the operational work within Logistics and Customer Support. We all have multiple tasks and areas of responsibility today, but we also know that with time and growth that will change.

Speaking of change; change will happen and we need to embrace it. “Without order nothing can exist, without chaos nothing can evolve”.

You will work both very hands on and strategically in the beginning, but with time move to a more and more strategic role that scales the business. 

You must be a strong team player at the same time as you are a leader, from time to time you will need to pitch in and help the team wherever it may be needed, from packing some boxes in the warehouse to presenting results in board meetings. 


  • 5+ years of leadership experience in health and/or pharma, preferably in e-commerce and any scaleup experiences are meriting

  • Must have experience as a manager who can properly influence and motivate people

  • Must have a successful track record of leadership and the ability to attract, develop and retain 

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Must be business savvy and have the ability to grasp the business model and strategic plans

  • Must be highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and relationships internally but also with suppliers, brands, logistics partners, investors

  • Fundraising experience is meriting

  • Established supplier and brand relations within Health, Beauty & Pharma are meriting


  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Tech/IT, Pharma/Health or similar + MSc/MBA a plus

Language skills

  • Fluent in Finnish and English both spoken and written. Swedish is a plus.
