Job Description

Metso is now looking for a Head of Metso Performance Centers.

Metso Performance Centers provide data driven digital services and remote expertise for Metso’s mining processes and equipment customers. Currently there are two Metso Performance Centers being ramped up in market areas, and there will be three more in the near future. In this role, you will act as a global owner for remote services and support Metso’s Performance Centers in market areas to scale up the services globally.

As a Head of Performance Centers your main responsibilities include managing the global remote service offering, supporting several market area centers in remote services execution, as well as establishing the team in the centers and across Metso organization to support in monitoring and improving remotely the condition and performance of Metso manufactured equipment as well as process performance.

Your main responsibilities also include providing requirements for development of tools and systems needed to enable remote services, to establish service ticketing and documentation systems and related ways of working. You will also provide guidance for the teams for data analysis to discover ways to improve equipment reliability and process performance.

In this role you will also be a member of the global digital services team, and through collaboration with service businesses, you will participate in the development of digital services and processes. The Metso development team will enhance our existing digital platform based on the feedback from the digital services team, Metso businesses and customers. You will be closely collaborating with Metso's technical support and R&D to solve issues that cannot be solved locally.

This is a new role in Metso and you can be located in any Metso main location.

This role requires travelling a maximum of 30% of your time. 


To Succeed

To succeed in this role, you should have strong digital remote services management experience from a global business environment. You should have a MSc or BSc in Data Science, Process or Control Engineering, or equivalent. We expect that you are familiar with minerals processing and have an understanding of minerals process data analysis and events in order to increase performance of the customers process.

You should have:

  • Experience in manufacturing processes digitalization and remote services
  • Ability to combine information from multiple sources and define opportunities for improvement
  • Technical skills in Advanced Process Controls, CMMS and CMS systems, OPC, analysis tools such as multivariate statistical analysis tools and root cause analysis are preferred
  • Understanding of minerals process data analysis and events in order to increase performance of the customers process
  • Experience in heavy mining equipment like crushers and grinding mills is an advantage
  • A proactive and collaborative attitude
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English, Spanish or Portuguese skills is an advantage
