We are looking for a Head of Development & Processes to join our Innovation function. Depending on your preference, this position can be located in Espoo or Porvoo, while we expect you to spend time in both locations.

In addition, it drives future growth through identifying and building new business platforms that focus on scalable and sustainable feedstocks, technologies and business models. 

Innovation Excellence unit drives, ensures and captures the Innovation business value with high efficient manner in the field of Portfolio and Program Management, IPR, and Development & Processes. Development & Processes is a newly formed team with the purpose of driving operational efficiency across Innovation function, especially focusing on process development, continual process improvement, digitalization and reporting & analytics. As a Head of Development & Processes you will be in the leading role to make it happen!

In your role, you will

  • Take the lead of establishing the team, competencies and practices
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize development needs and actions in Innovation
  • Manage the portfolio of development initiatives and ensure efficient and successful project delivery and deployment of processes, ways of working and digital tools
  • Besides your own project(s), support and coach team members with development project execution responsibility
  • Enable and foster continuous improvement culture in Innovation
  • Lead and develop Development and Processes team and capabilities
  • Take an active role in driving the unit forward as a member of Innovation Excellence leadership team

You will work closely with various roles and teams in growing Innovation function as well as other internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient processes, tools and practices across Innovation function. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Working safely at all times is essential to all of us.

Keys to success in this role

  • The best combination of experiences, skills and background is 
  • University level degree (M.Sc.) in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or similar relevant
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience including leading development initiatives with proof of successful change management and implementation
  • Proven track record of driving continual process improvement and digitalization
  • Demonstrated knowledge and capability of utilizing agile work methods
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent English, both written and spoken

We also value

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma expertise and experience
  • Experience from process or chemical industry
  • Understanding of R&D&I operations and processes

The recruitment process includes interviews and aptitude testing. The first interviews are preliminary scheduled to take place on week 34 and 35.
