ABOUT THE ROLE
The Field Service Engineer is the primary contact for Varians customer service and repair needs ensuring that our customers equipment operates efficiently at all times. In order to succeed in this role you will learn our systems through time - this is why we are looking for someone ready to commit to the whole development process.

You will be looking after the customers mainly in Finland and occasionally in Estonia; travel is estimated at 80% with 2-3 customer site visits each week. Our warm and motivated team of other Field Service Engineers supports you and gives the possibility to rearrange shifts. We trust our employees, so you can flexibly design work schedule and travel arrangements that best suits your needs.
JOB DUTIES

* Troubleshooting, repairing, installing, upgrading and performing preventative maintenance on all designated Varian equipment, such as radiotherapy accelerators and accessories.
* High level of professional communication with direct team, customers, management, sales and other technical support.
* Manage time and maintain a schedule to include preventative maintenance, installations and upgrades as well as incoming customer calls demonstrating the ability to assess and prioritize the urgency of customer requests and follow-through to completion.
* Examine difficult customer issues, diagnose and resolve the issues.
* Submission of field service and expense reports along with management of consignment and other required documentation.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Fluent communication and interaction skills
* Degree in relevant field or equivalent working experience
* Willingness to travel and commit to the whole learning process
* Basic understanding of Office 365
* Fluent Finnish and English - both written and spoken


These are seen as an advantage:


* Understanding of CRM
* Experience of technical documentation, standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the field
* Experience of electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, testing equipment used for verification/checkout and calibration of electronic equipment
* Experience of micro-computers/PC based systems
* Computer usage, computer and network debugging skills
* Understanding of delivery system networks and networking techniques
* Ability to diagnose and solve moderately complex mechanical problems

* Understand and recognize the need to escalate incidents when necessary and/or request additional assistance from more tenured representatives.
* Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through the use of strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
