Do you consider yourself to be a customer service specialist? Could you picture yourself as a maitre d'hotel working in different departments? We are now seeking a Guest Relations Manager to join our team to ensure the contentment of our guests and the enhancement of service quality and seamless cooperation between different departments!

We are looking for someone who has experience with hotel reception and restaurant work. With the department teams, you will be responsible for ensuring hotel guests receive holistic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences during their stay at our hotel. In addition to accommodation and restaurant activities, we provide activity and supplementary services ranging from airport transfers to in-house snowmobile safaris and other activities. You will also play a big role in increasing cross-selling between departments. Naturally, you welcome VIP guests in person, get to know the guests and familiarise the team, also using the guests’ names. Every guest is an individual with a name, seeking once-in-a-lifetime experiences and who has personal tales and dreams. We seek to satisfy these desires by offering services with meaningful experiences.

In able for you to be competent at your task, we expect you to have a background in e.g.

  • Managerial reception tasks at, for instance, a high-standard international hotel
  • Restaurant manager responsibilities
  • Technical skills with e.g. restaurant and hotel systems
  • Understanding of figures and their significance on commercial activities and the development of such
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English is a prerequisite for success with this job. All other language proficiency will definitely be seen as a plus

Your own tourist industry network

  • Perhaps experience working for a travel agency or tour operator
  • In addition, you will do well if you have the following qualities:
  • Customer service attitude that is also used in all in-house operations
  • Socially active and outgoing personality
  • Good negotiation skills. There will be many situations where you will improve the development of services without direct supervisory responsibility and take a negotiating role with guests regarding the provision of supplementary services
  • A positive, youthful, inquisitive and development orientation with a team player attitude.

We are offering a permanent, year-round position at a true vantage point (with respect to both career and physical location) at the peak of the Saariselkä resort. Nature, wilderness and life in North Lapland are all included. You will be responsible for maintaining an important functional role and significantly influencing the creation of service product stories. Your immediate supervisor will be the Juha Muotka, Head of Hotel, Restaurant and Activities.
