Global SoMe & Production Intern 

We are looking for an intern to join our wider Brand Communications & Marketing team in the Helsinki HQ for a duration of 6 months.  

Your role will primarily support the PR & Community team by assisting in social media and sample management related tasks and helping strengthen Marimekko’s presence in its social media channels. In addition, you will support the Visual Brand Design team in photoshoot related tasks. You will report to Head of PR & Community. 

The key objective of the PR & Community team is to increase Marimekko's global brand awareness and image through press, influencers, community management and social media, whereas Visual Brand Design team leads Marimekko’s visual design in all marketing touchpoints. Both teams work in close collaboration with many company functions including marketing, e-commerce, corporate communications, sustainability development and design – and so will you!  

As part of our wider Brand Communications & Marketing team, you will learn the ins and outs of social media in a global design company, understand the key principles of community building at Marimekko and see how a brand’s creative direction comes to life. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in social media and visual storytelling and who is not afraid of sharing their creative ideas. 

We hope you can start during February 2023.   

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:   

• Managing PR storage & coordinating product samples
• Supporting in product orders and send outs
• Daily engagement & community building in Marimekko’s social media channels 
• Supporting in curating and sorting user generated content 
• Supporting Visual Brand Design team with photoshoots
• Assisting in light content creation tasks
• Supporting with other PR & Community related operational tasks

We expect you to:   

• Have a minimum of two years of supporting educational background (your studies don’t need to be finished) in the areas of marketing, communication, PR and/or social media
• Have excellent written skills in English and Finnish
• Have a genuine interest in social media, PR and storytelling
• Have excellent digital skills: you learn quickly and feel comfortable using new digital tools
• Have strong organizational and time management skills
• Have a hands-on way of working and a can-do attitude
