GATE SERVICE AGENTS
for a fixed-term period and part-time work (Max 100h/ 4 weeks) ending on 30th September 2019.
Finnair’s Helsinki Airport Customer Service personnel are there to make our customers’ path pleasant and easy. The overall aim is to be available and to provide high-quality, customer-oriented and friendly service for all Finnair customers.
You will start as a Service Guide and work first mainly at the airport departure hall in various customer service situations. After approximately 4-6 weeks you will be trained further to take responsibility as a Gate Service Agent. After Gate Service Agent training you will work also at the departure area. This position is a part of Helsinki Airport Customer Service organization and reports to Customer Service Duty Manager.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Serving customers in a designated area (eg. Departure hall, departure & arriving gates), according to Finnair guidelines and Unique Nordic Customer Experience service concept.
Dealing constructively with irregularity and overbooking situations
Contributing to flight punctuality and security
After Gate Service Agent training, you will ensure smooth and on-time departures by checking travel documents, hand luggage's and communicating with other operators.
Our expectations from a successful candidate are:
At least one year of experience in demanding face-to-face customer service work; longer experience is considered an asset
Positive service minded attitude and excellent interaction skills
Ability to cooperate in a diverse team and make decisions independently, also under great pressure
Ability to take initiative
Completed secondary education, other relevant education considered an asset
Fluent in spoken and written English and good skills in spoken and written Finnish, all other language skills are considered an advantage

We will offer fixed-term and part-time work (Max 100h/ 4 weeks). Before employment, new employees will participate in a two-week free training course without separate compensation for the training period. Depending on the course, training will be arranged preliminary between 1.10.-15.10.2018 (first fall initial course) & 15.10.-29.10.2018 (second fall initial course) Participation in the training is mandatory. Small changes to course dates are still possible and the final dates will be confirmed in August. After the initial training you will be able to work first as a Service Guide before entering the Gate Service Agent course.
