“Courage takes us further”

Are you an aspiring IT professional and willing to broaden your skill set? Join YIT! We will give you the best tools for success, and by collaborating closely, we will strive for better business.

In this position you will be working as a summer trainee in YIT Business Technology organization. As a member of Business Technology, you will work either in development projects, as part of our data & analytics team or in our service management organization. Overall, we provide and develop IT services globally to YIT subsidiaries and business segments operating in different countries.

But this is not all, because after successful summer trainee period we might have a new offer to you.

As digitalization is affecting construction industry on global scale more than ever before, we are in need for new talents. Thus, we're planning to start a new trainee program YIT Digital Talents during 2021. This means that we will favor summer trainees who are capable and willing to continue work at YIT with fixed term contract.

This contract will, however, be unlike others. It's twofold: you will not only work at YIT, but also study things that are relevant for your future. As a member of the program, we will teach you new skills together with our partners: CGI, Microsoft and Solita. These include but are not limited to data & analytics, AI, low-coding, APIs, integrations, Azure and Service Management. And naturally you will learn basics of construction industry.

Are you the future star we are looking for?

You will succeed in this role when you are motivated to develop your skills and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You have good communication skills at least in English. Finnish skills are preferred but not mandatory and Swedish, Central Eastern European languages and Russian are valued.

We expect you to be a graduate or soon-to-be graduate from University or from University of Applied Sciences with good grades. Previous work experience from IT field is preferred but not mandatory. Studies or experience for example from application development, system design, UX design, requirement analysis, analytics, AI/ML, RPA, Databases, Public Cloud, ITSM, ITIL, SAFe and Scrum are seen as an advantage.

Why YIT?

In our large company, you will get broad opportunities for developing your own competences. You will get to work with our professionals, learn from challenges and take your learnings to the next level every day. Even on tougher days, you can be sure to have the support of a large company and a close and dedicated team to get you through all challenges.

Why we do this you might ask? The answer is simple. We will show respect to your talent if you show cooperation, passion and creativity. As concrete action we are more than willing to discuss how our journey could continue after the fixed term period based on your achievements. YIT slogan is "Together we can do it" and it would be great to have this journey, together. The first step of this journey is to enter application to Business Technology summer trainee period.
