Sanoma News&Feature Media digital development team is looking for a skilled developer to work on our news web sites such as Helsingin Sanomat, Ilta-Sanomat, Aamulehti and Satakunnan Kansa. In this role, you will be part of our team developing services for our news products. We use modern technologies such as Scala, Typescript, React, AWS, PSQL, Redis, Docker, Github, and Datadog.

Developer responsibilities

• Designing, creating, and maintaining TypeScript and Scala -based services
• Interpreting business objectives to create high-quality implementation that achieves key results
• Problem solving with other team members in the project
• Identifying and resolving immediate and potential issues in the system
• Participating in team meetings
• Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding

Developer requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience/qualification
• 2-5 years of experience in working with TypeScript and Scala
• Practitioner level understanding of AWS
• Experience in developing APIs and knowledge of scalable architectures
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Eagerns to learn
