Full Stack Developer (Ruby on Rails)

Venuu, an international event venue marketplace, is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join their product team to support scaling up international expansion. In this role you will join a small and agile team of young professionals to develop the Venuu platform. You will take on versatile full stack tasks with main focus on backend development and participate in service design and architecture. You will lead the development of specific features & epics, and support other teams in automating business processes. As the team grows, you will get to mentor more junior developers and support their professional development. Venuu’s current tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, React, AWS and Elasticsearch, to name a few.

The ideal candidate has gained experience in web development, especially with Ruby on Rails and cloud technologies, such as AWS. You adapt to change and you are eager to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working, but can appreciate the value of “boring” technology too. Most importantly, you have great teamwork and communication skills and enjoy working in a dynamic, fresh environment.

We are looking for:

• Previous working experience in web development and interest in user-centered product development

• Solid skills with Ruby on Rails and AWS

• Ability to champion and adopt new technologies, tools, and ways of working

• Good communication and interpersonal skills combined with an open-minded attitude towards improving working practices and processes together with a team

• Willingness and ability to help junior team members to grow by mentoring

• Full working proficiency in English

Not required, but useful:

• Working experience with React, Elasticsearch, Typescript and email systems

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure configuration tools (Terraform, Ansible) and infrastructure monitoring technologies

• Other language skills (particularly Spanish, Polish, Swedish & Finnish)
