WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
As a member of the Tori modernisation squad, you are one of the key contributors to the renewal of our leading marketplace and have a direct impact on our 3+ million monthly users Tori experience! Your main focus is on delivering readable code and clear documentation while taking designs to modular UI components that are adaptive and scalable. Tori users are in the center of whatever we do, thus identifying trends and championing best practices are also on your desk. In order to deliver frictionless customer experiences more effectively, you also run A/B tests (experiments, progressive rollout) with Flagship. You can also rely on our own analyst team to share market and customer insights. Furthermore, your expertise is needed in building further our engineering culture and our frontend excellence by proposing relevant solutions to your squad and by supporting your squad mates to reach objectives.
Your first opportunity is to shine by working with a squad that develops and modernises the Tori site. The Q4 this year is all about creating tools and proof of concepts. In the beginning of 2022, the fun part kicks off when we attack the Tori site and start creating the new Tori. Our pioneering goal is to completely renew the web experience and tooling with a modern tech stack and practices. How do we get there, it is up to you and the squad.
We are currently transitioning our legacy stack to a more modern one. Some of the key technologies in use are React, Redux, Next.js, TypeScript, SASS, Tailwind, Jest, Cypress, Express, Node.js, Flagship and automatic static optimisation / server-side rendering. Learnings are guaranteed, as this is a pivotal moment for the Tori tech organisation. Opportunities to make a difference and to influence the future of Tori are numerous and frequent.
During your first six months, we expect you to get on board in contributing on strengthening our frontend capabilities and collaboratively start planning new features for Tori. Further down the road, we are eager to see you leading knowledge sharing initiatives in both your cross-functional team and functional area. Our goal in the long-run is to focus on building our frontend expertise. Thus, you can expect to have more frontend colleagues joining us in the near future! By assuring high-performance delivery on Tori’s tech side we make our competitors sweat while growing our market share!
Not everything is sweet, so here is the main opportunity for improvement
We are happy to help 3+ million Tori users every month! A wide spec of users brings along a variety of opinions and preferences. Thus, we are challenged to provide value for everyone. Currently, we work more and more in a user-centric and a data-driven manner in order to respond the best possible way to customer feedback. Balancing between old and new is not always the easiest task to do but we are driven by the vision of an even more functional marketplace. Are you ready to hop along on the development journey?
Here is an 82 member tech family eagerly waiting for you! The Tori Generalist squad gathers eleven bright experts: 5 developers, 1 lead developer, 1 QA, 2 UX designers, 1 PM & 1 Customer Engagement Manager. When getting to know us, you notice quickly that, we truly live and work based on our three key values: we win together when working on cross-functional squads around the PEAK, we encourage each other to be curious and actively develop ourselves for example with the help of LinkedIn Learning -platform, and we are empowered to have courage to share ideas and challenge ourselves.
