To lead the way & support the exponential demand, we are now seeking an ESG Data Analyst to OP Corporate Bank’s Asset Management organisation in Helsinki. Your role is positioned within the Equity team, but you will work in close collaboration with OP Asset Management’s ESG professionals. You will support the entire Asset Management organisation, including a wide range of sales, product management, and investmentprofessionals. As an ESG Data Analyst, you are in an important position in advancing the integration of environmental, social, and governance metrics by sourcing and analysing data and developing tools and reports for investment teams and clients.


ESG Data Analyst


The role includes developing and implementing ESG data-driven analytics that can be incorporated into the investment process in close collaboration with other team members and internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will be handling and combining different sources of internal and external data and creating usable outputs for portfolio managers, risk analysts, and clients. Furthermore, you will be working closely with a variety of external data service providers in understanding the methodologies and use cases for our needs. As a part of your responsibilities, you will develop climate risk  analysis to support our emission reduction and net-zero targets. You will play an integral role in ensuring that our analysis and reporting have the necessary input to align with regulations, such as EU taxonomy and SFDR. Moreover, your task is to aggregate data for firm-level sustainability reporting such as PRI and TCFD. You will be working closely together with other ESG specialists at OP, to develop ESG integration across the business and create innovative solutions.

What we expect from you


To succeed as an ESG Data Analyst, you will need an understanding of ESG and climate issues applied to the asset management industry and different asset classes. Furthermore, you possess strong skills in data management and quantitative analytics, and you are proficient with SQL coding. You have applied these skills during your working career for a few years.  Moreover, you are an advanced user of Microsoft Office tools. Most importantly, you have a strong interest and willingness in becoming an expert in ESG, climate change, and responsible investing.


Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear manner are essential for succeeding in the role. Your tasks require an ability to work across different teams and functions, delivering projects and solutions with sometimes tight deadlines.


You hold a University degree from a relevant field.


To excel in this role, you benefit from an understanding of different sustainability-related frameworks, such as SASB, TCFD, SBT (and similar). Knowledge of Power BI and R, Python or Matlab helps in rapidly taking ownership of the role.  We also appreciate familiarity with any of the following data providers: Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS (and similar).
