The Wood and Pulp Handling Business Unit designs and delivers wood handling systems and pulp drying lines for pulp and energy producers worldwide. The variety of projects is large, starting from deliveries of new plants to rebuilds of existing lines.  Valmet’s scope can be as complex as the delivery of complete lines on a turnkey basis to the single supply of a Valmet equipment.

This is a new role in Valmet and the Engineering Systems Administrator will be located in Ulvila.

In this position, your main tasks and responsibilities will be to maintain and develop engineering techniques and procedures to increase design productivity, also to support and develop engineering applications together with Valmet IT service managers. Acting as a link between Valmet IT services and business as well as project support for sales and delivery projects. Develops your own internal network, working hand in hand with the users and stakeholders and consumers of the various and interconnected systems in Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance and Quality.

You have a very important role to take care of the system engineering tools life cycle from development, integration, maintenance to user trainings. In your daily work you will be responsible for:

  • evaluating, planning, organizing, leading and coordinating engineering systems development and operation for the Business Unit
  • defining requirements and represents the Business Unit in system development and acquisition
  • ensuring adequate and timely roll out and training
  • providing critical maintenance and administrative support to users
  • ensuring availability, data integrity and performance of the engineering systems

Expectations:

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology (or equivalent) and several years’ similar system administrative experience in the engineering, manufacturing or construction industry. Further experience in 2/3D CAD software’s such as Comos, Aveva E3D and/or Dassault Systems is a definite plus.

We value a customer-oriented and Information Technology minded person, with a proactive approach to speak up and push projects forward. You work independently, can manage your time and priorities even in quickly changing situations with several ongoing projects at the same time. It’s essential to have fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
