Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, was completed in November 2023. The 16,500 m² site houses research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof, which will create plenty of additional jobs.

As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton’s expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

Due to the expansion of the team, we are currently looking for an Electrical subproject manager in Vantaa.

What you’ll do:

As a Electrical Subproject Manager you will be responsible for leading the electrical subproject to ensure electrical infrastructure and testing capacity to meet business growth requirements. You are going to lead the internal requirements planning, co-operation with construction companies & other stakeholders, planning and execution of the test bay area and battery building space usage.
The role includes project management for new investments in laboratory and manufacturing areas. You are going to work closely with Manufacturing Technology Team projects and processes. Further responsibilities are:

• Establish the electrical subproject team

• Lead the subproject planning, designing and execution

• Define electrical infrastructure and testing capabilities to meet business requirements

• Identify / maintain critical and long delivery time component delivery schedule. Ensure risk mitigation. Inform project management incase risks occur

• Lead electrical installation and commission works

• Define needs for subcontracting to optimize layout and support growth

• Define material flow and material replenishment strategy (Reduce material footprint on test laboratory area)

• Execute and lead defined changes on site

• Project covers collecting and summarizing the business needs for the layout optimization and possible facility extension

• Co-operate with Eaton internal stakeholders to get quotations from service providers

• You will coordinate business requirement, Eaton EHS requirements, tester safety and architect work related to test bay and battery building

• Provide information and required plans for possible execution of layout changes and facility extension, being the link between service providers, construction company and Eaton on down to detail level choices

• Lead Eaton internal planning for the electrical infrastructure details

• Lead equipment installation to the shop floor, ensure needed changes to current processes will be implemented and lead the operations

• Coordinating with project management and finance on financial planning and cost tracking

Qualifications:

• Several years of experience in project management, preferably on manufacturing or facilities related areas

• University degree

• Project management skills & tools

• Ability to lead change

• Negotiations skills, communication skills, project management skills, financial understanding related to project, influencing skills

• Fluent Finnish and English

• Coordination skills with various stakeholders
