We are now looking for

DSP Specialist

to join Reactive Technologies team.

The principal role of the DSP Specialist is to investigate and implement new technologies relating to power system monitoring and operations. The candidate will develop new or tune existing data processing algorithms related to signal detection, filtering and manipulation.

-Product development by signal processing, and/or machine learning and analysis techniques.
-Work as part of R&D function to develop both
-Minimum Viable Products which are developed at low cost but demonstrate the product benefit to the customer quickly and
-Commercial grade products derived from the MVPss and demos
-Help identify and mitigate project delivery risks.
-Support proposal development and management reporting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
-Ability to work independently in a multi-tasking environment. Exhibits personal drive and is highly motivated.
-Ability to code effectively in at least one programming language with adherence to good coding practices.
-Ability to reduce complexity into key, scalable requirements and understand how this would be implemented in software.
-Background and/or knowledge in at least some of the following programming contexts:
-Signal processing
-Pattern recognition/machine learning techniques
-Ability to communicate effectively.
-Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics or other applicable discipline.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
-Experience with Linux
-Experience with version control systems (Git)
-Knowledge of power system engineering. Particular areas of interest include the following:
-Inverter control capabilities
-Power system stability and associated modelling
-Power quality measurement and analysis
-Power system data analysis, e.g. forecasting or system parameter identification
-Background in power system modelling and dynamic simulations (i.e. DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS/e, etc).
-Knowledge of smart grid technologies from a DSO and/or TSO environment.
-Knowledge of C++
-Experience in delivery or operation of Grid, Utility or Energy Services.
-Knowledge of AWS infrastructure
-Able to think both technically and commercially, e.g. experience/appreciation of techno-economic assessments.
