Four service-oriented Donor Engagement Managers

We are looking for both experienced fundraising professionals and new colleagues willing to learn the trade. Our donors include foundations, companies, alumni and other individuals committed to supporting higher education for a better future. The donor engagement team works closely with the University leadership and the entire academic community to create and to maintain long-term donor relationships. Our goal is to be among the best globally in higher education fundraising and donor engagement, working together with our donors in solving complex challenges and educating future visionaries and experts.

Roles and goals of our new colleagues

Three of the four new positions focus on major donations from foundations, companies and individuals. You may already be a fundraising professional, or your background may be in sales, marketing, PR, international relations or any other field where creating meaningful engagement makes the difference. You will be responsible for a portfolio of prospects and current donors, both in Finland and abroad.

The fourth position is open for an enthusiastic developer of annual/regular giving from a wide audience. Emphasis is on online giving through top-notch digital solutions with an out-of-box attitude and an understanding of gamification. Events and campaigns, also offline, are a part of your portfolio. You understand why, how, when and where people are donating, and what they expect from the online services in donor engagement. You work in close cooperation with our alumni engagement team and with communications.

We expect

Successful candidates to all positions should demonstrate a profound interest and/or previous experience in at least one of the Aalto University’s focus areas: technology, business, or art and design. To succeed as our new colleague, you have

- ability and passion for building mutually rewarding relations in a multinational setting
- client-driven, professional, and systematic working style
- strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- ambition and a track record in achieving goals and delivering in complex projects
- experience of working in higher education and/or an understanding of the academic community works
- fluency in Finnish and/or English, all other languages are an asset

Sales experience is highly appreciated for all positions.
