Overview:
Vaisala’s Product Creation teams develop and manage our industry-leading products all the way from initial ideas to product launches including R&D, engineering, software development and testing, project management, system testing as well as UX design.


We are looking for:
We are looking for a Documentation Specialist to join our User Experience (UX) Team in Vantaa. The UX team is a multidisciplinary group responsible for customer documentation and design activities (concept development, industrial design, user interface design and usability) in Vaisala.


Your Key Responsibilities Include:
You will work in Vaisala’s Weather Radar product area. You are responsible for the maintenance of the existing customer documentation and for creating new printed, online and embedded instructions for weather radar hardware and software we develop at Vaisala. The work is done in close collaboration with the other documentation specialists, designers, project team members and product management.

You will have a wide responsibility in planning, creating and managing the customer documentation in the projects you participate in. In addition to the project work, you will also participate in the development of our daily work practices, style guides, processes and tools.


Qualifications:
You have a relevant academic degree, solid experience in technical communication and excellent command of the English language. You have a good working knowledge about structured and modular customer documentation. DITA XML skills are an advantage but not required.

To excel in your work, you must be organized, pay attention to detail, work consistently with a large amount of software and hardware documentation that is re-used in several products and keep the deadlines. Previous experience in creating customer documentation for complicated systems is an advantage.

Most importantly, you have curious mind and you are passionate about customer documentation. You think about the big picture of who, where, and how information about our products and how they are used. When there is a need and opportunity to develop visual, video, or interactive customer documentation, you are not afraid to learn new skills or to guide the experts in doing what is needed to create these deliverables.
