We are now looking for a Director, Credit, UPM Customer Operations in Finance.

What you’ll do

The position holder is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of credit policy, the financial risk mitigation and ensuring that the credit strategies are aligned to drive business and customer value, by adapting a strong operating model with key stakeholders.

Your main tasks are:

  • Manage credit risk management operations globally and the team of Credit Managers and Analysts to meet all goals and objectives
  • Ensure credit risk management quality and efficiency globally for all UPM Business Areas
  • Maintain the corporate credit policy
  • Develop credit scoring models and processes
  • Drive adoption of best practice in credit process and scoring model development, and automate where relevant
  • Manage the credit granting and updating process for existing and prospect customers
  • Ensure a good co-operation with credit insurance providers
  • Manage relations with credit reporting agencies, sales department and customers
  • Manage the negotiations of escalated collection cases
  • Participate in lead to cash end to end process development and continuous improvement activities together with other customer operations in finance, finance & control and business teams

Who you are

  • You have master’s degree in economics and business administration or similar education
  • You have more than 5 years of relevant experience in international credit risk management
  • You have experience in people, team and change management
  • You have good leadership & co-operation skills in a global matrix organization
  • You are fluent in English and have experience from international business environment
  • You have in-depth knowledge and experience with credit scoring systems
  • You have a thorough knowledge of trade credit insurance
  • You are willing to travel to UPM business and customer sites globally
  • You have considerable experience with customer negotiations
  • You are used to work in a fast-paced environment

The position is located in Helsinki, Finland. Other locations can be considered.

The position holder will report to Pia Porvari, Director, Customer Operations in Finance, Finance & Control.
