Digitalization is a trend that will change SSAB in many ways. We have formulated a digitalization strategy that points out three areas as especially important for SSAB in the coming years – Explore ways to digitalize products and services, use digital solutions to improve the customer experience and use new technologies to improve efficiency in our operations.

SSAB Digital Business Development’s task is to assist the line in defining, launching and conducting digitalization projects. Our work is conducted based on the needs and funding from divisions or other sponsoring functions. Placement of the position can be at one of SSAB office locations.

About the position

This recruitment concerns 1-2 positions.

As a Digital Business Developer you would have the following tasks

  • Project / program management: Lead following or similar SSAB digitalization initiatives
  • Position 1: Act as the service owner for SSAB SmartSteel. Interact with customers and internal stakeholders, eg. business line and IT. Act as project manager for new release development. Build business cases, organize pilots and run cross-functional project teams.
  • Position 2: Act as program lead for RPA development. Run RPA projects, communicate about RPA and seek new use cases. Be responsible for SSAB level governance for software robotics.
  • Strategy formulation and road mapping: Help to co-create and refine SSABs digitalization strategy. Assemble roadmaps for digitalization initiatives.
  • Conduct studies in the three digitalization focus areas.
  • Digital expertise and drive: Keep up to date on digitalization trends and technologies and make them understandable and assess applicability for SSAB. Inspire and drive digitalization in divisions and functions.

Your qualifications

The candidate should ideally have strengths, or the evidence for a developing/potential strength, in the following five areas.

  • Digitalization knowledge and appetite for digital innovation. Needs to be interested and adaptive to understand the potential of new technologies. Preferably has experience from creating digital customer experience with eg. customer portals, API/EDI, RPA and Artificial Intelligence. Able to understand customer’s digital footprint and derive new value propositions. Curious and knowledge seeking.
  • Project management capability. Be able to efficiently manage and deliver impact in the form of projects. Structure complex situations and problems.
  • Consultative mindset, drive and experience. Needs to be good at consultative selling and comfortable in taking pride in helping others succeed. Show a drive and persistency to get things started and going.
  • Communication skills and ability to build a network within SSAB and interact with customers and other stakeholders. Ability to build understanding and alignment on complex matters.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry. The ability to understand the SSAB business model, priorities and issues. The ability to tailor approaches for SSAB.
